We need YOUR help to restore and beautify our
park! Please stop by for an exciting day in nature!

9am: Sign-in and Training
10-12pm: Planting and Removal
12-1pm: Lunch
1-2:30pm: Planting and Removal
2:30-3pm: Clean-up |
Come Prepared with: Long pants, boots/sneakers,
sunscreen, bug spray, work gloves.
Rain or Shine
All necessary equipment, lunch and refreshments
will be provided.
Join Natural Biodiversity in cooperation with
the National Wildlife Federation?s Habitat
Stewards? volunteer program to create a healthy
habitat by planting native trees,
shrubs and wildflowers as well as removing invasive
species found at the Park of 1889.
Our goals for the project:
• Ecology- To improve and maintain the habitat
for wildlife and visitors
• Education- Use of interpretative trails, signage,
brochures and programs
• History- Incorporation of site?s natural history
into plantings
• Privacy? Creation of privacy barriers through
placement of shrubs and bushes
• Art? Aesthetic improvement of the site

Needed for Invasive Species Control
The Natural Biodiversity Conservation
Strategy needs YOUR HELP to conserve biodiversity by eradicating problem
invasive species in select public areas. Come help us enhance local
trails by removing unsightly weeds while you meet new people, and enjoy
the wonders of nature while being outdoors.

* Those attending shifts that
include lunch are asked to RSVP. Events will be held rain or shine, so
please dress appropriately.

* Volunteers are asked to bring
their own tools such as loppers, hedge trimmers, rakes and gloves. String
trimmers do not cut knotweed.
